Birthday Party

Reagan's First Birthday Party!!!
It was a very low-key event with family... mainly because our basement is being renovated (but also because I couldn't imagine a ton more toys in my house!).

Nicholas picked out the birthday cake... a circus. How fitting! Everyday at our house is like a circus.

How sweet!

Reagan's 1st Birthday

Reagan turns one tomorrow!

It is so interesting to see her personality forming.
  • She is sweet. She loves to press her cheek against mine.
  • She is jealous. If Nicholas is sitting on my lap, she will try to push him away.
  • She is a fighter. If I try to take something from her that she shouldn't have, she'll fight me for it.
  • She is a great sleeper. She loves to take naps and sleeps late every morning.
  • She is smart. Her 'tricks' include waving, touching her belly, and mooing like a cow.
  • She is daring. She is determined to climb the steps.

I love my sweet girl!

I can't believe I had my hospital bag packed one year ago preparing to meet her... God is great!

Happy New Year

Gone are the days where Mike and I go out for New Year's. This year we stayed home and made ribs and chicken for dinner. We set off some fireworks for the kids. (Mike is half-pyromaniac... he loves fireworks!)
Mike commented that people just don't go out for New Year's anymore like they used to. I think he just doesn't understand that we're getting old! All the young people are still going out.
I watched some of the New Year's Rockin' Eve and fell asleep at 11:15! So much for watching the ball drop - oh well!

Speaking of Grown Up...

Look at this big girl! She's walking!!! She's still very cautious and prefers to crawl (because it's much faster).

Reagan's New Bike

Reagan loves her new bike! Grammy and Pappy bought it for her for Christmas. Doesn't she look so grown up?
Thankfully, the weather after Christmas was nice enough, that we could actually go outside and take a stroll around the neighborhood.

Christmas Aftermath

Look at my living room... Christmas present galore! My kids are so fortunate... and spoiled by their grandparents!

Christmas Day!

Happy Birthday, Jesus! We got up early to celebrate your birthday (notice the darkness outside the windows - ugh!)
Because Nicholas was so excited, we let him open his presents while Reagan slept.

Yikes! I didn't realize I was in the background of this picture... with my glasses on :(

A few hours later, we went to Aunt Jodi and Uncle Keith's house. Nicholas got a kitchen set from Grammy and Pappy. (Mike was horrified!)

Reagan finally opened her presents when we got home

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve started with a visit to Woo Woo's house in the afternoon. She loves buying gifts for the kids and always goes OVERBOARD! Just take a look at the presents behind Nicholas.

Woo Woo has a Christmas merry-go-round that Nicholas loves! (It is very loud and very annoying, but he loves it so she puts it out every year.)

Christmas Eve evening, we went to my parents' house. We ate crab legs and shrimp (yummy!) before opening presents. Nicholas' favorite present was his bumble bee pillow pet. He talked about pillow pets for months before Christmas... definitely the 'hot' present for 4-year olds this year.
